Amphibian Survival Alliance

The Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA) provides emergency funding for critical situations in amphibian conservation that require urgent, immediate action. These grants, typically up to USD 5,000, are intended for rapid interventions that can prevent imminent extinction or catastrophic population loss within the next 6 months.

Eligibility Criteria:

Please carefully review the checklist below. If your project does not meet ALL of the following criteria, it is not eligible for emergency funding.

To be eligible, your project must:

1. Involve a species or population at clear risk of extinction within six months.
2. Address a threat that is acute, time-sensitive, and well documented.
3. Propose immediate, short-term, on-the-ground action (not planning, outreach, or long-term restoration).
4. Request no more than $5,000 in funding.
5. Be ready to begin promptly and be implemented within weeks to a few months.
6. Focus on direct conservation action that can measurably reduce the risk of extinction.

If your project doesn’t meet ALL of the above, we kindly ask that you do not apply through this program. Instead, we encourage you to keep an eye on other ASA funding opportunities that may better align with your goals.

Application Guidelines:

1. Clearly demonstrate how your project meets all of the above eligibility criteria.
2. Provide as much detail as possible in your responses. There are no word limits.
3. Include any available baseline population data, recent survey results, or other quantitative information that demonstrates the urgency of the situation.
4. Clearly explain how your proposed actions will directly address the immediate threat and prevent extinction.
5. Describe specific, measurable outcomes you expect to achieve within the 6-month timeframe.
6. Include supporting documents such as population trend data, habitat loss statistics, or other relevant scientific evidence.
7. Use the ASA-provided budget template for your project budget. This template can be downloaded HERE.

Remember, these grants are for true emergencies only, where extinction is likely within 6 months without intervention. If your project does not meet these strict criteria, please consider our other grant programs for longer-term conservation efforts.
