  • Design League is available for students grade 6-12.
  • D75 schools are encouraged to apply.
  • Educators receive professional development, support/coaching, and CTLE credits.
  • Dedicated 1:1 program manager for dedicated school support.



In 2023-24, 3,000+ NYC public school students designed digital solutions to better their community through tech career-connected skills in human-centered design, AI fundamentals, UX/UI, design thinking, and wireframing.


New Design League Updates for 2024-25

  • Standards-aligned curriculum: NYS CSDF, CSTA, ISTE, CCSS, NGSS standards
  • AI Fundamentals curriculum, co-designed with Carnegie Mellon University
  • Access to tech professional mentor visits count towards CTE requirements
  • Design League STEM Career Fair, with career-connected exposure opportunities
  • Professional tech & design tools training for participating educators, including Canva, Figma, Google
  • Differentiated and updated PD programs for both returning and new Design League teachers

Program Info


  • CTE-level computer science, computational thinking, design thinking, and app building curriculum (aligned to NYS Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards, ITSE, Common Core, and NGSS standards). 


  • AI Engineering fundamentals developed in association with Carnegie Mellon University teaching how machine learning works and guiding students to understand AI applications in higher ed and careers. 


  • 20-hour educator professional development and technology training.


  • Tech professionals support and mentor every student by giving feedback on students’ Design League projects, as well as by sharing advice and insights into their career journeys.


Professional Development

To support Design League teachers, Mouse will host 3 full-day, in-person PD events in Manhattan to provide all resources, tech skill training, and establish Communities of Practice.

New Design League teachers are required to attend 3 full-day, in-person PD events.


  • PD #1: Early Fall (2 date options will be provided)
  • PD #2: Late Fall (2 date options will be provided)
  • PD #3: Feb. 2025 (2 date options will be provided)
  • Advanced Tech & Design Tools Training, including Canva, Figma, Google: Spring '25

Design League Ambassador


Design League Ambassadors support implementation by acting as the liaison between Mouse, principals and teachers at your school. Ambassadors identify and communicate needs to Mouse, and keep principals informed about students' and educators' success. 

The Ambassador is typically an AP, instructional coach, tech coordinator, or other trusted member of the admin team.


Requirements:


  • Ambassadors should not be a full-time classroom teacher.  
  • Ambassadors support teachers with deliverables & timelines, support school fair, help set up coaching sessions between Mouse and teachers.
  • Ambassadors help schedule in-person classroom coaching visits for Design League staff


Example: AP, STEM Coordinator, etc.

Design League Educators/Teachers


In this section, please indicate which teacher(s) will lead Design League this year. Past Design League educators have included: core content teachers (e.g., ELA/Math), standalone electives, or after-school programs. 


Design League can be integrated into any subject! Past successful integrations have included: English/ELA, History/Social Studies, Science, Health, Art, and Computer Science.
