Salary: $55,000 to $60,000 dependent upon experience


Start Date: March 2025


Position: Full-time 2-year fellowship with eligibility for benefits after a 3-month satisfactory trial period. Opportunity to career position at year 3.


Process: Application, resume, cover letter and writing sample + Initial and secondary rolling interviews with key personnel


Location: Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) based. Hybrid. You must have stable, high-speed internet and phone access, working vehicle, driver's license, and occasional weekend availability.

The Role

The LAMP Finance Manager Fellow is a key position in our organization at a time where we are expanding rapidly. Your role entails employing an array of organization skills and tasks to ensure seamless accounting and financial deliverables of the LAMP project. The fellow works directly with our Finance Director and provides logistical accounting support to team members across all departments and with local farmers. Examples include, but are not limited to:


-Day-to-day bookkeeping

-Management of monthly financial reports

-Purchase of produce from farmers

-Invoicing

-Procuring farm-to-institution contracts/bids

-Co-create and co-mange the OSW loan fund 

-On and offsite financial support towards start-up grants and micro loans


About You

You have a lived-experience belonging to the Black Diaspora. You have a passion for, knowledge (or curiosity to learn) about topics around sustainability, agriculture, self-directed learning, and equity as it relates to Black and Indigenous folx. You are motivated to engage in an immersive experience surrounding the financial aspects of an organization. You have specific experience in the position you are applying for or a deep interest in learning. You have background experience or interest in finance, accounting and public administration.


You have at least three-four years of work experience in at least six of the following, and have completed graduate level studies (preferred but not required):


digital literacy in applications such as Google Suite, Microsoft office or Adobe


-data analysis

-logistics coordination 

-organization operations 

-program management 

-marketing and communications 

-research & writing 

-administrative support 

-community organizing

New knowledge in the logistics of food aggregation, distribution, and transportation


Skills development in operational programs and services such as: Dubsado, Quickbooks, Ramp, Deputy and Notion


Networking opportunities with financial-service leaders


Attendance and participation in accounting and finance conferences and professional development trainings


Shadowing rotations within various OSW program offerings


Participation in programs, on-farms, and networking events with current OSW staff, consultants, and volunteers
