Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 dependent upon experience


Start Date: March 2025


Position: Full-time 2-year fellowship with eligibility for benefits after a 3-month satisfactory trial period. Opportunity for 2nd year extension and transition into career position at year 3.


Process: Submit application, resume, cover letter, and writing sample + initial and secondary rolling interviews with key personnel


Location: Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) based. Hybrid. You must have stable, high-speed internet and phone access, working vehicle, driver's license, and occasional weekend availability.

The Role

The Farm & Aggregation Assistant Fellowship is a key position in our organization at a time where we are rapidly expanding. Your role entails supporting the foundation of LAMP with administrative tasks to ensure the project is completed to plan. The fellowship interfaces with our partner farmers participating in shared aggregation activities.


Support the farm and aggregation sector of the project


Act as a stand-in for the project manager


Work closely with additional project staff and assistants in the construction, procurement, and finance sectors


Prepare meetings and follow-up debriefs


Interact directly with farmers through aggregation and oversee collection for transport and processing

About You

You have a lived-experience belonging to the Black Diaspora. You have a passion for, knowledge (or curiosity to learn) about topics surrounding sustainability, agriculture, self-directed learning, and equity as it relates to Black and Indigenous folx. You are motivated to engage in an immersive experience supporting the infrastructure, and connecting the moving parts and people that are building out its design. You have specific experience in the position you are applying for or a deep interest in learning. You are excited to travel to farms locally in Prince George's County, DC, and Northern Virginia to support on-farm programming, site visits, providing coordination, assistance and facilitating constructive communication.

You have background experience or interest in collaborative work, are organized, efficient with at least six of the following, and have completed graduate level studies (preferred but not required):


-Technical proficiency

-Problem solving and adaptability

-Attention to details

-Time management and prioritization

-Emotional intelligence

-Resource allocation and management

-Technical writing

-Project scheduling and timeline management

-Digital literacy in applications such as Google Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, Slack

Appointed mentor for weekly personal development check-ins


Integration into the world of small-scale regenerative farming, land stewardship, Black food sovereignty and community building


New knowledge in the logistics of food aggregation, distribution, and transportation


Participation in programs, on-farms, and networking events with current OSW staff, consultants, and volunteers.
