Call for Speakers and Workshops — AMLD Africa 2026
Dear innovators, researchers, and changemakers,
We’re thrilled that you’re considering sharing your work at Applied Machine Learning Days (AMLD) Africa 2026, taking place 26–29 January 2026 at WITS University, Johannesburg, South Africa.
By submitting a proposal, you will have the chance to
- Spotlight pioneering AI & ML solutions that address Africa’s most pressing challenges in health, sustainability, economic empowerment, governance, culture, and beyond.
- Connect with a uniquely diverse audience of students, practitioners, investors, policy-makers, and industry leaders from across the continent and around the world.
- Shape the conversation on responsible, human-centred innovation by contributing to keynotes, track talks, hands-on workshops, demos, and startup pitches.
What we’re looking for
We welcome contributions at every stage of maturity—from breakthrough research to production-ready deployments—so long as they
- Advance understanding or application of ML/AI in African contexts,
- Highlight tangible impact or clear pathways to real-world adoption, and
- Encourage open discussion, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
Each submission will be reviewed for technical soundness, clarity, and relevance to one of our core tracks (listed in the form). Please fill in every required field as accurately as possible; complete information helps our reviewers place your talk in the right track and streamline visa or logistical support if needed.
A few practical notes
- Presence: We strongly encourage on-site participation in Johannesburg to maximise networking and community engagement.
- Visibility: Sessions may be recorded and published to broaden the conference’s reach; please indicate your consent in the form.
- Draft material: If you already have slide decks or extended abstracts, attaching a PDF helps reviewers better assess your proposal, but it is not mandatory at this stage.
Thank you for helping us democratise AI and machine learning across Africa. We can’t wait to read your ideas and, hopefully, welcome you to the AMLD Africa stage!
Warm regards,
The AMLD Africa 2026 Content Team
